“Every selection meeting had rejection written all over it for me, despite performances. I let that pressure chew me, and I wasn’t enjoying my game.”
In 2023, Saxena went through a phase where he struggled to find motivation. However, through introspection, reading motivational books, and conversations with family and fellow players, he learned to let go of things beyond his control.
“I made peace with the possibility that it may not happen, and I haven’t felt better on the cricket field since then.”
Saxena’s debut for India A against West Indies A in the Caribbean (2012-13) was a standout moment. He proved his mettle on the international stage, silencing critics who questioned his selection.
